Paskotitap 2010 in Pasig City

we super enjoyed watching all the beautiful floats during the recently concluded Paskotitap in Pasig last sunday, 12th of december 2010.  we're very lucky as the parade passed by our street so we didn't have to go too far just to watch it.

the theme was fairy tales.  so there was beauty and the best, alice in wonderland, aladdin, mulan, up the movie, and a lot lot more!  it was like being in hk disneyland once again.

here are some pictures for you..

our dashing mayor, bobby eusebio

merry christmas everyone!

Planning Your Dream Wedding

if you're a hands-on bride (like i was, a few years ago), these websites will surely help you plan that dream wedding even minus those very expensive wedding planners.  all you have to do is go to these sites, which i highly recommend, and read read read:

bridal book
sign up and you can have your very own bridal book.  this bridal book can store all your wedding plans and details.  a wedding is full of details (promise!), so a bridal book will be very handy especially if yours is 100% DIY.  this site also has a very comprehensive list of wedding suppliers.  what i like the most is their forums page.  it hooks you up with fellow brides who can help you in planning your dream wedding.  also, if you want your very own wedding featured, with matching love story and pictures, you can send them an article of your wedding.  what a nice way to show the world your lovely wedding!

the knot
what i loved the most from this site is their extensive pictures and ideas on hairstyles, gown designs, entourage gowns, cakes, venue decors and so much more!  there are tons, you'd go gaga just by browsing.

wedding announcer
get your very own free wedding website -- wedsite, as i used to call them.  it is so user-friendly and customizable.  it is feature-packed as well.  your guests can rsvp online or read up on your love story.  you can post as many pictures as you like, even videos are allowed.  the only limitation to this wedsite is your imagination.  *wink*

weddingsatwork
w@w is quite similar to bridal book.  this site was started many years ago.  this explains why you can get more information here about philippine weddings than any other websites out there.  you should never miss their directory listing which lists tons and tons of suppliers.  if you're a bride-to-be looking for something unique or a new supplier, you can easily post an ad on their classified ads section.  what you shouldn't miss is their annual christmas party and wedding expo.  there are lots of freebies to be had on both events.  promise!

weddingsatwork yahoogroup
if the information you get from the bridal book forum isn't enough, why not apply for membership at the w@w yahoogroup?  i promise, you'll get lots of information from fellow brides in this group.  you'd be surprised!

kasal
what i found most useful from this website is their missalette page.  you can either use their basic missalette which already has pre-selected readings or customize your own by choosing prayers from their listings.  then save it on your computer for future editing or printing.

i hope you find all the abovementioned sites very useful.  i'd also love to hear how these sites helped you in planning your dream wedding.

some tips before i end:
1.  set a budget.  if you think your present savings isn't enough, don't rush your wedding.  give it ample time so you have more time to save.  in most likelihood, it'll be the only wedding you'll ever have in your lifetime, so better make it the most beautiful and meaningful your money can permit.  also, STICK TO YOUR BUDGET.  you wouldn't want to have a very bongga wedding only to be debt-ridden on your very first day of married life.  don't do it for the show.
2.  get feedbacks and meet suppliers before getting their services.  and watch out for fly by night operators.
3.  attend as many wedding fairs and expos as you can.  it is here where you'll find, and meet, all the suppliers you'll ever need.  these are also good venues for meet-ups with fellow brides/grooms.
4.  create a guestlist.  stick to this so you won't overspend on food and invites.  categorize them if you must.
5.  if yours is purely a DIY wedding, buy a planner or organizer where you can plot all your wedding plans.  get the help of your sister, cousin, or bestfriend.  you'll need their help especially on your wedding day.

goodluck!

Nestle Ice Cream Party Package

ice cream is always a hit among party-goers, especially kids.  so why not avail of nestle's party packages for your party.  they will deliver them to your venue, so no hassle for you on the day of the event.

and if the birthday celebrator totally loves ice cream (like moi), why not have an "ice cream party"!  this theme never goes our of style -- trust me on this.  rain or shine, an ice cream is always a welcome treat.

now if you have more questions, don't hesitate to send them an email.

have a sweet and cool party!

Birthday Party Planning Tips and Suppliers Directory

birthdays should always be fun and memorable events.  so it's best to be armed with the right information and suppliers that will help you plan the best party your loved one will surely never forget.

are you ready?
LET'S PARTY!

first things first.  remember these tips before doing any shopping spree and inviting those very eager guests:
1.  decide on a budget... and always remind yourself to stick to it.  you may be tempted to go all out along the way (you'll think.. it's for my son's 1st bday, he has to get the whole shebang..), but think about all the other stuffs in your household's list of monthly expenses that you and hubby have to pay for (like insurances, tuition fees, emergency fund, mortgage/rent, etc) before taking the plunge.
together with the budget is your party checklist.  include there the important details of the party, like:  date, time, venue, number of guests, caterer, decorator, theme, budget, entertainment, games and prizes, photographers, videographer, and others.
2.  take note of the celebrator's age when deciding on your party's timeslot.  if it's for your child's 1st birthday, check his nap time.  make sure it won't coincide with the party time.  otherwise, you'll have a very sleepy, grouchy celebrator.
3.  ask hubby's help in creating an initial guest list.  this way, you'll know beforehand how many will be from his and from your side.  and if the party is for an older person like your tweener, includer him/her when making your guest list.
moreover, the number of guests you will generate here can help you decide where (and not to mention how big) to hold the party.  do take note of where 60% of your guests will be coming from.  example, if most will come from quezon city and caloocan, don't plan a late afternoon party in alabang.  unless you are sure all are willing to take the very long drive to and from the party.
4.  if possible, follow a theme.  this will tie up the whole event -- invites, costumes/attire, food, entertainment, games, decor, etc.  remember that the party theme is something the celebrator (not you, unless it's your party) personally likes.  your 7-year-old barbie-fan daughter will definitely give a fuss once she peeps inside her highschool musical themed party.  and you wouldn't want that.
5. book your suppliers early.  take this seriously especially if your party will fall on peak months like december, january or february which are also the peak months for weddings and reunions.  and remember, when you book suppliers early, you get more freebies and lower rates.
6.  if any of your siblings, parents, or bestfriends volunteers to "donate", welcome them as they will help you get more things done and booked without spending a penny more.  but please don't forget to thank and acknowledge them before the party ends.  they may just be more generous on your next party. *wink*
7.  always remember who you're planning the party for -- your son, daughter, husband, father, mother, and so forth.  sometimes, we tend to get carried away while planning the party.  we tend to infuse things we want, then force the idea upon the celebrator hoping he or she will love the idea too.  or oftentimes, we plan the whole party with the guests in mind -- just for the show, if you know what i mean -- and forget it's for our one-year old baby who will never even remember he had three main photographers and two back-ups taking photos of his every whimper and smile.  please restrain yourself from doing these.

now, i hope i have listed everything you might want to know before party-planning.  take the above tips to heart because you'll surely need them along the way.  you may share them to your friends or amigas.

for the list of suppliers, you may check the following websites:
