Malacañang, thru Proclamation No. 48, declared October 25, 2010 (Monday) as a non-working holiday to give way to the nationwide barangay and sanguniang kabataan elections.
here are some basic voting tips:
1. firstly, i hope you registered to vote. otherwise, these tips are useless to you.
2. check your voting precinct a day or two before election day. searching for it ON the day itself can be a drag. risky too as there are times when voters don't find their names in their precincts.
3. list down your preferred candidates before going to the precinct. this will save you lots of time come election day. also, this will ensure you won't miss out any of your preferred candidates.
4. wake up early. eat right. bring a fan, bottled water, candies and/or towelette if you must. be at the precinct early.
5. bring one or two proofs of identity like a company/school id or NSO birth certificate, just in case the need arise. it sucks if your turn comes then identity issues crop up and you aren't prepared.
6. no cameras, videocams or cellphones inside the polling room please.
7. don't forget to sign the voters' list before going out of the room.
8. be prepared to wait. this is a given. please take note as well that senior citizens, persons with disability, and pregnant women are given priority for voting.
9. be proactive. report any election-related anomalies to comelec officials. protect your ballot.
10. be calm. stay safe. simply enjoy this day of suffrage.
